Israel Lounge Night. This chapter program is designed to provide chapters with a fun,
relaxing way of bringing Israel into the chapter. The youth lounge should be decorated with Israeli flags, posters, etc. Israeli drinks, snacks, and foods should be served. Israeli
music should be playing.
Israel Taboo. Cards should be prepared, and the game "Taboo played". Instructions for playing Taboo: Chapter is divided into teams. A player from each team is selected to stand in front of team. Player receives a card. On the card is a word. This word can be a person, place, or thing related to Israel. Under that word are three "Taboo" words. The person must describe to his team the word, with out using any of the Taboo words. Points are awarded for every card guessed correctly within 20 seconds. Player in front of team switches.
Example: the word is “Bedouin”. The list of words that should not be uttered is “Arab”, “Donkey”, “Camel, “Tent”, and “Nomad”.
Edible Israel. Teams make a map of Israel out of food, then eat it.
Israeli Movie. Possible options include Entebbe, Kazablan, and Salach Shabbati.
Israel Karaoke. Karaoke using Israeli songs.
Iron Chef, Israel Style. Play Iron Chef (cook off) with Israeli food.
Trivia Prep: Make posters with facts and pictures about different cities in Israel including specific facts like population, famous places and people, etc. Then come up with questions on each city based on the posters.
Other Materials: A list of charities in israel, Something to write on.
When attendees arrive, instruct them to form pairs or groups of three for larger groups. Tell them they have _______ time (1-3 minutes per poster) to look at the posters and learn about Israel on their own.
At the end of the time, have them sit in their groups so the trivia can begin.
All participants will be asked a question for which they will write a response on the pad/paper provided. Each correct answer will earn a point. Each wrong answer costs a dollar(cost can be more or less depending on size of group).
At the end of the night, the team with the most points may decide which charity in Israel gets the money from the wrong answers. Planting a tree on USY's hill 16 is a very high recomendation.
